I have decided that every Friday I am going to give my readers a tip about how to become a better performer or entertainer. I will give you my trade secrets to success as a singer, from nervousness to controlling pitch and volume, and facial expression. So here we go:
Week of 10/18: Always keep a light smile on your face at all times during the performance. It keeps you from looking like you don't care about the song and really seems like you care about every single word that is coming from your mouth. But also remember not to overdo it because you kinda look like the smile is forced.
Good luck in the musical world,
Dezzy ( :
Week of 10/25: Sing it out! There's really no point in trying to pursue singing if you don't want your voice to be heard. I understand that some people don't have much confidence in their voice, and I'll get to that next week, but you need to be a leader and at least to contribute to the team! You may even get noticed my your choir director and have a chance for a solo or duet. Trust me, if you don't sing out, you might as well not sing at all.
Good luck in the musical world,
Dezzy ( ;
Week of 11/1: Always follow the director's hands! They tell you when to cut off, the crescendos and decrescendos,and the rhythm/ speed of the song. If you don't pay attention to the director, you could be the only one speeding, at normal volume level, or singing all together. You don't want any of that to happen, trust me. You will look like a total idiot on stage.
Good luck in the musical world,

Week of 11/8: Listen more than you sing! That by far, is the most important rule to being successful in a choir scene. When singing in a choir, group, or even as a duet it is imperative that you listen. Why? Because otherwise you're going to sound out of tune and you're not going to blend together as one solidified voice.
Good luck in the musical world,
Dezzy ( ;
